The hattrick combination of NT Rama Rao with VV Vinayak and also with Devisri Prasad lived up to the expectations of his fans in particular and the audiences in general. In fact, there was a lot of confusion whether the film’s release would be smooth or might face the wrath of the Telangana agitators, which raised the expectations on the film as well. However, it was a smooth affair everywhere, as the leaders gave a deadline of January 28 for the relaunch of T-movement. Though Kajal Agarwal and Ileana were supposed to play the female leads, they were replaced by Nayantara and Sheela and both performed excellently in the film
Parabrahma Sastry’s (Tanikella Bharani) wife delivers a still-born child for the third time and her mother-in-law is worried over the issue. However, with the advice of a nurse, she separates a baby boy delivered by an unidentified lady, as she delivered twins. Parabrahma Sastry brings up the boy with the name Narasimha Chari (NT Rama Rao). The other boy also named by his mother as Narasimha (NT Rama Rao) and he grows up as a mass hero. Narasimha wants to become a police officer and a DSP (Sayaji Shinde) uses him as an undercover cop unofficially. He taps the phones of mafia dons and used to benefit by robbing the money during the operation with the help of Narasimha and used to share the booty. The DSP’s daughter and Narasimha are in love with each other.
On the other hand, Chari’s guru Bhattu (Brahmanandam) seeks Chari’s help for his marriage with Chandrakala (Nayantara). However, Chandrakala loves Chari and expresses her wish to marry him. At this juncture, Baba (Mahesh Manjrekar) sends his right hand (Ashish Vidyarthi) in search of the family of a Major (Nazar), who invented a great weapon which could be fired from anywhere in the world with the help of internet. Everyone believes that the Major died in a road accident, but he was in the custody of Baba. Now, the Major wants to prepare the weapon only after meeting his family members. So, Baba sends his people and finds that Narasimha was the Major’s son and kidnaps him. Narasimha admits that he was the son of the Major and makes him to talk to his wife. As the Major was given some time to prepare the weapon, Baba decides to keep Narasimha in his custody. However, Narasimha escapes from his clutches. One of the followers (Raghubabu) of Baba replaces Narasimha with Chari by offering him huge money. Innocently Chary accepts the offer and goes to Baba. After a few turn of events Narasimha and Chari meet each other only to know that both of them are brothers. How, both the brothers worked together and saved their father is the climax.
PLUS:
Definitely, the performance of NT Rama Rao is the highlight and major plus point of the film. NTR as a mass hero and as an innocent Brahmin excelled in both the roles. While the mass hero did wonders in action scenes, the other character tickled the funny bones of audiences with lots of comedy in association with Brahmanandam. VV Vinayak who is known for heavy action scenes perfectly mixed comedy with the action and the blend was so perfect that the audiences did not feel bored at any point of time. He made the audiences to stick to the seats all through the film. Devisri Prasad’s music is another highlight of the film. All the songs were excellently tuned and perfectly choreographed to suit the taste of mass and youth audiences. Action by Ram-Laxman is also scintillating. Both the heroines filled the glamour slots perfectly. While Nayantara’s character had two shades, one a traditional Brahmin girl and another as a modern girl with latest outfits. Sheela played a nonchalant girl. Even the director did not leave the villains as they too provided good entertainment. Brahmanandam’s comedy is another plus point for the movie. The comedy track between him and NTR and also with MS Narayana made the audiences burst into laughter. Direction by VV Vinayak is ultimate and the screenplay he penned for the film was so tight that he left no scene wasted with ‘no’ boring moments to the audiences.
MINUS:
The main theme of the story i.e., the weapon prepared by the Major appeared to be absurd with a weapon hanging in the air and it is not known how the bullet could reach the target. The director failed to establish this point properly and it is completely cinematic. The director also failed to etch the character played by Sayaji Shinde and it was abrupt. Likewise, how the hero came out of the den even after it was locked automatically by the villain is not known. It is also properly explained how the heroines entered the den of the villain and how they were accepted. There are many loopholes in the entire script, but the director managed to narrate the entire film with a gripping screenplay leaving them as negligible, because the basic theme of any film is wholesome entertainment and the audiences got it from the flick.
REMARKS:
The NTR-Vinayak combo proved a hit once again and Devisri Prasad’s music added flavour to the film. Especially the mass and youth audiences enjoyed the dances and action scenes. The release of the film which was in limbo till the last minute, was smooth with no untoward incidents at any theatre. The police also made elaborate arrangements for the smooth screening of the film and they felt relaxed with no Telangana activists attacked any of the theatres. Probably, the appeal made by the producers in general and NTR in particular worked out well.
